April 22 - Free Green Build It HomeTour in Colonial Place - Friday April 22, 4:30-7:30 - 435 and 439 W. 30th St. One is LEED Gold Certified, the other is awaiting certification. The homes feature a solar hot water system, radiant in-floor heat, passive solar design, dual flush toilets, low flow fixtures, spray foam insulation, low E argon windows, low VOC paints, high efficiency HVAC, and more. The tour will be held Friday April 22nd from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. Overflow parking is available at Park Place United Methodist Church located at 500 W. 34th Street.

May 21 - Bayside History Day Bike Tour - Lynnhaven River NOW and Tidewater Bicycle Association will host their third annual "Bayside History Day Bike Tour" on Saturday, May 21st at 9 am. Enjoy a leisurely family-paced bike ride while learning about the history and ecology of the Lynnhaven River. Stops are planned for Church Point, Adam Thoroughgood House, Ferry Plantation and Old Donation Church. A $20 per person fee covers the tour and boxed lunch for a picnic in a park along the way. The Nature Conservancy, along with several partners in the Seaside Seagrass Community Restoration Program, is once again gearing up for the largest seagrass restoration project in the world! We are looking for 100 local volunteer snorkelers and water lovers to collect millions of eelgrass seeds.
