Turning low grade plastic into a high profile material
Plastic is collected from beaches, shredded into flakes and melted. Then it is extruded into fibers and spun into yarn. Finally, to create an aesthetically pleasing surface, another material like cotton is helixed around the recycled plastic strands encapsulating it. This creates a durable fabric replacing and displacing 25-30% of required raw materials with recycled product from the ocean. Learn more by watching Plastic Age.
